Driver's Rules

Please print and read carefully these rules.  Contact us if you have any questions about it.

In order to stay close to you, we have built a new set of rules with the help of several European StreetLegal drag scene representatives :

2008 Rules

1. Vehicle

In order to take part to KOE, generally all you will need is a vehicle that is "street legal" for operation on regular streets.

Registration card with VIN and insurance will be required and checked at tech inspection.

2. Exhaust

Must be securely mounted with no fire risk and gas tight, must run under or along (Viper/Cobra like) the car with silencer exiting behind driver seat.  Silencer is mandatory. Screamer pipe for turbo engine can exit anywhere.

3. Tires

Street legal D.O.T. or E approved treaded tires mandatory at front for FWD, at rear for RWD, both for 4WD.

Tires will be inspected for overall condition. Bare cords are not permitted.  All tires must have at least 1 tread.

4. Wheels

All wheel studs, with full compliment of lug nuts required. Broken studs/missing lugs must be replaced before racing. Hub caps must be removed for lug inspection.

5. Lines & hoses

All fuel, transmission, brake and power steering lines must be secure and free of leaks.

6. Radiator

Radiator overflow catch tank mandatory on all vehicles.

7. Driver

Must have valid driver's license. Must have normal behavior (drugs and alcohol tests could be used).  No alcohol allowed for the drivers!

Shorts, bare legs, tank tops, or bare torsos prohibited when driving in competition. All drivers are required to wear full-length pants, shoes, and socks. Nylon or nylon-type clothing and opentoe shoes prohibited.

Under 10.00 seconds car : Drivers are required to have as minimum requirements protective clothing labeled as meeting the appropriate SFI Spec. Jacket and pants meeting SFI Spec 3.2A/5 and gloves and shoes meeting SFI Spec 3.3/1 mandatory.

8. Helmet

Required in any vehicle. Helmet must CE Approved.

9. Seats

Must be securely fastened to floor or frame with minimum 4 attaching bolts and nuts.

10. Seat Belts

All vehicles must have as a minimum an OEM type lap belt system, securely mounted to frame or floor, per OEM. Additional Seat Belts must be CE or FIA approved.

When a car runs faster than 10.00 the car must have FIA/SFI approved 4 point seat belt installed.

11. Batteries

Batteries must be secured per OEM, or with a minimum of 2 3/8-inch diameter bolts. No bungee straps, cords, etc.

Battery may not be in the passengers compartment unless it is the vehicles oem battery mount, like under the rear seats as by some BMW models and the Volkswagen beetle. In this case a fully closed fluid tight container is also mandatory.   When battery is relocated in the trunk it must be installed in a fluid tight container unless gel cell batteries are used.

Each car is permitted to have a Battery on board during the race.

12. Ballast


Loose ballast is not permitted on the race track, so be prepared to empty trunks and interior of all loose items. Spare tires, jacks etc. must be securely mounted or must be removed. Tools, jack stands, coolers, loose speakers, etc. will not be permitted to go down the race track. If you don't need it, or don't want to leave it unattended, leave it at home.

13. Nitrous Oxide

Bottles must be stamped as meeting DOT 1800 pound standards, and must be securely mounted (no bungee straps, hose clamps, etc.). All fittings, hoses etc. must be compatible, vented to outside of driver compartment.  When the nos bottle is mounted in the passengers area a blow-off valve with metal tube extension to the outside of the vehicle is mandatory.

14. Fuel

All fuels are allowed.

Octane Booster are allowed.

15. Roll Bars / Cages

Roll bar mandatory in any car running 7.49/11.49 or quicker; roll cage mandatory in any car running 6.39/9.99 or quicker, or 217 km (135 mph) or faster. Convertibles faster than 6.99 / 10.99. Roll bar / cage structures must meet minimum NHRA standards as found in 2006 NHRA Rulebook.

16. Wheelie Bars

Wheelie bars will not be allowed during qualification or finals.

17. Street Legal Accessories

Car must have installed and working at all times during the race :

a) Headlights installed at the OEM emplacement, working as powerful as the original ones if modified

b) Turn signals installed at the OEM emplacement, working as powerful as the original ones if modified

c) Stop lights installed at the OEM emplacement, working as powerful as the original ones if modified

d) Wipers working normally

e) Horn working normally

18. Street Legal car behavior

Car must start and run on its own without any exterior help from the pit to the start line.

External batteries are not allowed to start the car.

Marshalls can control this state any time from the pit to the start line.

19. Scruteneering

Any modification on the car (except changing tires) done after scruteneering and involving one of the rules above can lead you through an immediate disqualification.

If you can't run anymore without doing these modifications, replace the parts and contact Marshalls to get a new scruteneering before racing with these modifications.

20. Leak

During free practice and qualification, any fuel, water or oil leak on the start line area or on the track would lead to immediate return to pits for repairing.

During finals, any fuel, water, oil leak on the start line or on the track would lead to immediate disqualification.

Intercooler spraying with water is strictly forbidden to avoid water leak but CO2/Nitrous spraying is allowed.

21. Race Appeal

Any appeal must be submitted through the appeal form available at the starting line along with a deposit of 200euros.

If the case is valid and the car disqualified, 200Euros deposit will be charge back to the appealer. If the appeal is not valid, 200euros will be lost.

Depending on the timing and conditions, appeal can be examined after the race and disqualification can be pronounced after the end of the race.

22. General Behavior


King of Europe is not and will never be a dog fighting area!

Any agressive behavior of a driver or a team member could lead to disqualification of the car during or after the race.

23. Categories


StockStreet : All cars running slower than 12 sec.

Street FWD : All FWD cars running faster than 12 sec.

Street RWD : All RWD cars running faster than 12 sec.

Street 4WD : All 4WD cars running faster than 12 sec.

24. Final ladder

a) StockStreet will go on a Top 16 ladder composed of the best 16 times in this category. Winner will get the "Best Western European 12sec Car" prize.

b) Street FWD will go on a Top 16 ladder composed of the best 16 times in this category. Winner will get the "Best Western European Street FWD car" prize.

c) Street RWD will go on a Top 16 ladder composed of the best 16 times in this category. Winner will get the "Best Western European Street RWD car" prize.

d) Street 4WD will go on a Top 16 ladder composed of the best 16 times in this category. Winner will get the "Best Western European Street 4WD car" prize.

e) King of Europe GrandFinal Top16, composed of :

- Top 4 of the Street FWD

- Top 4 of the Street RWD

- Top 4 of the Street 4WD

- Top 2 of the StockStreet

- Best 2 Overall Qualification Time

Top16 King of Europe will be chosen by lotery with 1 rule : for the first round, you can't drive against someone of your class.

If one of the Top4 driver is already qualified by being one of the 2 best qualification time, the driver defeated by him in the Top8 of his class will take the free slot in King of Europe Top16.

Finals will run from step A to step E. If the finals need to be cancelled due to bad weather conditions or any other incident, Classes Winner and overall King of Europe winner will be based on the qualification best times.  

 

Spectator's Rules


Speed is limited to 10kph/6mph inside the track.

No Burn Out allowed.

Open fire on the entire grounds is not allowed.

Clean up your rubbish in the dust-bins.

Domestic animals are not allowed.

Instructions by members of the organisation must always be obeyed.

On the dragstrip, you have to stay behind the fences.

In the parking, tradestands with commercial character are FORBIDDEN.

For any problem, please contact the organisation, do not try to solve the problem yourself!

The organisation is not responsible for any damage or theft or consequences of this damage or theft.

Any damage done to the infrastructure will be prosecuted.

If you do not follow these regulations, you will be removed from the track.

When paying the entrance-fee, you agree with these regulations.

The organisation can deny access to people or club who could cause troubles to the event
