Staszewski shows right skills to get

inaugural "King of East" Trophy

 

Grzegorz Staszewski from Poland in a 4WD V8 Turbo Corvette was declared the winner of the inaugural "King of East" Trophy held at the Tokol Airport Hungary on 12th/13th April.

A very shiny week-end for this first race on the road to the overall "King of Europe Dragster" trophy. 

This event was still early in the drag season and some of the top contenders were not yet ready, anyway the start line was crowded with drag Enthusiasts.

 

After a full day of free practice on saturday alongside of the Hungarian Nationals, qualifications and finals took place on Sunday .

As you can see above and below some serious cars were there to fight on the start line, from 3.8 M5 powered E30 to modified Audi RS2 in full street delivery.

One of the oldest and faithful contender is without a doubt Gianni Santi and his Red Renault 5 GT Turbo from Italy. 

This time was the time of Gianni to grab the victory in the StockStreet Categroy!

In the big boys and name not to forget, Sandor Vogelsinger was there again in Street FWD to define who's the boss and will even get the overall 2nd place of this event

Franck Bouchyard, a new comer from USA (military based in Italy) got the victory in the Street RWD as well as overall 3rd place with its supercharged V8 (picture below).

King of Europe Final:

Congratulations  to all the winners, Grzegorz need 1 additional step to grab the "King of Europe" title, he will have to beat the "King of West" who will be crowned during the main event in Brustem/Belgium 21st & 22nd June.
