HUNGARY
2008 time for a new
champion....
We always have good time and good race when King of Europe
is Hungary and once again this was the case!
For opening this season we had the chance to have a large amount of East drifters
with new cars, like Adam Kerenyi with his new E36 3.8L "factory"-level
car as well as "Lacky Boy" with an incredible E30 pickup
powered by a supercharged V8!
Italian squadra was at King of Europe for the first
time to show off the "adriatic" drifting style!
Vernon Zwaneveld and Kees Kok with a new powerful
engined E30 (3.0L compressor) were there, no way to miss
the first round for these 2 "crown hunters"....
All local drifters were ready to fight and keep the
victory at home.... All
the week-end was very nice and the fairplay was very good
French drifter Sebastien Anger with this orange
Sierra Cosworth will do the whole series and expect a
good final ranking!
After qualifications, the surprizing Radek was ranked number one
with his orange/black Alpina E30, his #1 ranking was due to an incredible
and impacting first qualification try
but Kerényi Ádám was a serious contender to grab the win!
Vernon and Kees were there as well to fill this
qualification Top4.
 Timofey Kosherny from Russia with his S14.5 is now
improving days after days and the Top10 is no more a
dream for him but a reality! A bit of
disappointment for the new italian drifters as well as
Sebastien Anger who will do the whole drift series this
year.
In the first round, we lost
the incredible Puci aka Varga Tamas, he got beaten by Adam
Kerenyi, as well as all Italian drifters, their level was
very good but too much stress for this first time in KOE.
Last but not least Vernon Zwaneveld did not start very good
for this new season but we know Vernon will play good in
Chambley next round, he like the track!
In Top16, a fantastic battle
between Kees Kok and Adorjan Szeles will lighten this Top16
and Kees the "old lion" will get through this Top16!
We will lost another good name in this Top16, Timofey from
Russia due to a stupid spin out....
In 1/4 finals, things start to
be serious, Hamon Gergely put through his E30 V8 against
Radak Janos. Kees Kok and Kerenyi Adam continue their
way easily with the last qualified for the semi-finals :
Bojan Kurbalija from Serbia, a true showman like we all saw
during the opening ceremony.
In semi-finals, Supercharged
Kees Kok took over the E30 V8 from Hamon Gergely in a hard
battle, on the other semi final, one more time has been
required for Kerenyi Adam to get victory against Bojan
Kurbalija.
Kurbalija who will take easily
the 3rd place in small final, a good surprise for this
drifter who will play "at home" this summer in Kragujevac.
In the last battle, the final,
Kees Kok and Adam Kerenyi made an incredible show during
these 3 one more time, so close, so hard but only 1 drifter
can win, this time it will be Adam and his new E36.
Congratulations to him and congratulations as well to Kees
who will be very hard to beat this year...
