FRANCE
Frenchies strike back
Another very exciting round of KOE in France, started as
usual with a full demo of the talented dutch drifters
during all free practice sessions. But French
troops were preparing the battle.
Qualifications results will show a perfect balance
between french and dutch drifters

2; 94; Marco Kok (Hollande)
3; 92; Jasper Spaan (Hollande)
4; 91; Franck Lagalice (France)
5; 88; Andre Kok (Hollande)
6; 88; Laurent Goupil (France)
7; 83; David Roze (France)
8; 82; Tony Join (France)
During the first round of
Top16, all the top8 qualifiers will go through with a
very nice run of the ex-Yashio Factory S15 Kevin Delhaye
against his team partner David Roze.
The real game will start
with these 1/4 finals, first one Kees Kok vs Tony Jouin.
Sounds like a replay of the same 1/4 final in Chambley
but this time Tony will take the win against Kees, first
mistake of the year for Kees!
Second 1/4 final : Andre
Kok vs Franck Lagalice, double spin and double 0 for the
first leg and equal on the second leg. A one
more time session will give the win to the french man!
Third 1/4 Final : Jasper
Spaan, well known KOE drifter against newcomer Laurent
Goupil, really tight battle between these 2 guys, Jasper
grab the win by small but enough advantage! Watch
out for Laurent Goupil in near future!
Last 1/4 final will be
Marco Kok versus David "smokemachine" Roze with his JZX
Chaser. Two opposite styles for these 2 men,
technical Marco vs showman David. David will take
the win only by a first corner mistake of Marco.
Semi Finals are coming and
3 french guys are still in, first time in whole KOE
history...
First semi-final, Franck
Lagalice vs Tony Jouin, battles are really close, only a
spin from Tony in second battle will give open the way
to the final for Franck!
David Roze against Jasper
Spaan, this is the second semi-final. Two Toyota
drifters, two showmen, two smokey guys but the lighter
AE86 from Jasper will take over the Cresta!
3rd place final will see
David Roze take the lead over Tony Jouin,
congratulations to David for his first KOE podium!
Last battle, the final,
will be : Franck Lagalice and his Black E34 M5 vs Jasper
the Turboed Hachiroku man! France vs Holland,
sounds like the same battle since beginning of the
week-end...
First final battle : 5/5
Second battle : the
mistake will come from Jasper, a too low speed exit will
leave the way open for Franck to escape and take the
win!
Congratulations to Franck who is still drifting with his
"daily" car and still awaiting his new drift machine : a
lightweight TwinCompressor V8 M5. Can Franck or
Jasper be new contenders for Kees in the race to the
crown, see you at next round for the answer!
