After crossing Europe from North to South and West to
East, After being the first drift event in Dubai, King of
Europe is happy to strike back again and be the first
European Drift Series to hit Moscow!

And it was hot in Moscow last sunday!
And not because of the sun. A smell of burned tires was
first felt in the center of the city where Moscow City
Racing show had been held and then in Luzhniki sports
ground where numerous spectators watched this first King
of Europe Drift Series Exhibition Match.

The best drifters of Russia and best drifters of King of
Europe met to in the next combat to find out who was the
best.

The main result of this noisy and smoky event – there
are drifters in Russia who are ready to compete with the
most experienced European drivers. The best of Russian
drifters became Sergey Zaitsev who took the second place
in this stiff struggle.

One of the widely known and
titled Russian sportsmen – Timofey Kosharny from
Saint-Petersburg had problems with the engine and was
fighting mostly with his car.

However he managed to reach the
quarter final. A few more Russian sportsmen reached the
quarter final where in a stiff struggle when even half a
point was important yielded to notable Europeans.

It was a real holiday! While in the parking lot of the
southern area of Luzhniki Russian drifters heated
themselves up and competed who would challenge an elite
of European drifting sportsmen from the first ten of the
“King of Europe” series were amusing spectators with
Moscow City Racing.

The Russian round of the King of Europe was in many ways
unique. An only Russian made car LADA-2105 at the start.
The only girl-drifter to whom mechanics suggested to
change a tape on the body of the car for the “”Queen of
Europe”. But the main stunning event – a show. Parallel
runs of drifters, a heat of competition, spectators’
applause. A friendly easy atmosphere.

The most entertaining thing was that most of cars which
arrived from Europe were rather “aged” by the
competition while the Russian ones were sparkling with
lacquer and chrome. But everything went to its place
when the cars entered the track. What a way they were
running! It was a real “dancing on asphalt”. Once again
it was confirmed that the principal part in a car is a
substance between a steering wheel and a seat. As many
European pilots admitted Russian sportsmen have a great
potential but lack an experience.

As the winner of the Red Square Drift Ramble – Vernon
Zvaneweld who piloted Toyota AE86 said:“These guys need
to train themselves for a about a year and having such
an equipment they will be very serious competitors.
Their cars are splendid.”
